In New Zealand and Australia, if you are a member of the MLA (Master Lock Smiths Association) you can purchase blanks that only members to the MLA can purchase, and in purchasing them, you agree not to copy other locksmiths do not duplicate keys, or do any work on other "Restricted" locks without permision from that locksmith. If caught duplicating another locksmiths system keys, you will be kicked out of the MLA

so taking these keys to a hardware store wont be any good, they wont even reconise the blank, let alone be able to duplicate it.
