I'm in Picking Heaven !!!!

Postby Malc » 11 Jan 2008 7:23

I received in the post yesterday the CB RPCP 5G pick yesterday from a friend who is no longer trading as a locksmith.

As business is slow this week I thought I'd give it a try and set myself up in the garage this morning ( not having ever tried picking 5 lever mortice locks before )

So stuck a 5 lever Union BS in the vice and tried picking with no luck ( also not exactly sure as how how it really worked properly).

So took out 3 lever leaving 2 and tried. A few mins later bingo it opened. So stuck a 3rd lever back in and again a few mins later it opened. Then 4 it opened and then thought i'd try it with 5 not expecting much. Not a minute went by and it opened again. Thought I may have set it up wrong so tried again. OK so it took me about 7 mins but joy of joys I picked it with all 5 levers.

So i'm in picking heaven !!! I have sadly got to say that in the past I've drilled but hate doing it.

My wife is not going to see me much now as I shall be glued to the vice in the garage over the next few months. Can wait to receive the plastic training covers to I can practice on other locks.

It's a fantastic feeling when the lock is picked !!!!! :D Best £20 I've spent for sure.

Girls are better than locks unless you are married. Then the locks are always new and fun but it's the same old wife every day. Someday you will understand young rooster.
