Once you learn to defeat spool pins you will find that they make picking easier. When the spools are false set it is obvious even to a beginner. Then is is a simple matter going back to push up the spools.

Making Security Pins

Postby Raymond » 12 Jan 2008 23:55

Simple security pins are easy to make. Buy them in large quantities if you need an assortment for regular rekeying.

These are samples of making security pins with a cordless drill, files or hack saw blades, and extra pins. A Dremel might also work well. I believe a 1/8 inch collet would shring down to the standard .115 lock pin. All five took only about 20 minutes to make.

Original materials before starting.

My guess is that it is a signed integer bug. If you have an erroneous 0 post count and one of your posts get deleted then you would have -1 (negative 1) post count. If the variable holding your post count is unsigned (meaning that it assumes that all numbers are positive) then it will interpret the sign bit (an extra bit that toggles on if the number is negative and remains off if the number is positive) as a significant positive bit and come up with that huge number.
