I locked myself out of my house once (locked out by, of all things, Kwikcrap) and when I called a locksmith, he used a jamb tool, or the prefessional tool that does the samething as a card.
I don't use that key-in-knob anymore and I now have Medeco deadbolt. I don't have the frame protected against kick in, but it's pointless, because the weak point would always be the windows. The idea is to prevent indetected entry.
