you must excuse the sceptisism , but i see so many new training firms setting up claiming to be all singing and all dancing, and many come on here under alias names to do no more than self promote themselves.

Ebay certainly was a factor in raising the alarm bells , as no reputable trainer has ever or would ever advertise there, i guess this one is down to concience.

Is he a member of ALA , MLA , ICL or any recognised body, police checked and vetted ? as up that part of the world is it anything to do with pinky as im sure he was notts and always exposed the wronguns and praised the good courses?

If doing the course then be sure to let us know what you thought, as independent feedback helps others decide.

This is not a new firm that I can assure you of they have been trading a long time I worked for them a couple of years back and had no problems at all. The owner comes from a family of locksmiths father grandfather etc and is very proficeint in his work operates one of the best equiped mobile units I have ever seen certainley not one for having to go and source parts as there is nothing he does not carry and can handle any given sitution.

I must admit I am very surprised they are going down the training route as they have always been very criitical of the ones that do and there must be a valid reason for doing so the owner is not short of money thats a dead cert I think I know the answer but would not like to air my veiws on that without being certain.

As for being a member of any of the above mentioned well doesn't really matter if the company is or not it's a matter of choice as none of them do anything for nothing and are happy to take your money to join and for what well nothing is the answer to that one.

The training you were promoting in one of your earlier posts is through 247 Locksmiths AKA Just Locks which in turn comes to Ken Dale a very well known locksmith and training provider for many years and yes he once advertised on ebay so what if it can put bums on seats good luck to them all. It will be interesting to hear from anyone who is trained by Above Maintenance in Auto Locksmithing I think a lot of people will be very surprised and should put a stop to the sceptisism that has arisen from the start.
There is always a solution to a problem and a way in without destruction !!!!!

O.K here is my opinion of the auto locksmith course that I attended last week.
The workshop is located very close to the M1 so its not hard to find very spacious and clean which is what I expected as its just been refurbished.

On the first day a bit of a classroom session with power point presentation covering an introduction to auto locksmithing followed by a demonstration on all the various picks used in vehicle entry and gaining entry with rods and wires.

On the second day we were shown how to remove locks and strip them down then create keys for them this I found quite straight forward as I come from a motor trade background but others were quite weary of actually removing inner door panels etc this day ended with more entry techniques shown.

Day 3 was spent on how to obtain key and pin codes cutting keys to code decoding locks and copying transponder keys and by passing alarms day 4 was spent on key programming machines programming and synchronisation of fobs the final day was a free day to do what you want i.e. go over things you were not sure of but was there mainly for the people who wanted ideas on building a auto locksmith business and how to obtain work.

The course was well worth the money and I now understand a lot more of the technical side of things which are associated with cars and there security however to get up and running on a full mobile scale will cost the earth so for me its going to be one step at the time but for anyone who wants to get into this side of locksmithing I think you would be hard pushed to find a place where every piece of kit is demonstrated and actually working on cars as well as on the bench is a must.

Fantastic facility’s and tuition easy to travel to and from and safe to park although by the end of the week I was sick of the little chef which is the nearest eatery taking a packed lunch would have been better as I am a tight bugger.

Thanks for a well balanced and also realistic review of the course. it truly is the only way a course can be judged, we can all pre judge, but only actual experience can accurately review.
like any good training , it wont make you an auto lockie but will ground you in the basics required to build a career with practice and investment and commitment.

It sounds up to date, and the keyword in your review was value ( worth the money) thats important to anyone, with the realistic review on becoming an auto specialist, sounds like interested trainees have another worthwhile option.

thanks for taking the time out to let us know, and good luck with it

Yes thanks mate for your course review. These are very important and will save others making mistakes or wasting money on shark trainers. Glad to hear it was worth it. I am def considering this as a good intro to auto locksmithing
