Lockpick shapes

So there are some pretty multi-purpose pick shapes out there (ie ball, diamond) but i have read about some more obsure types around here on the forum. Is there someone willing to share their knowledge about shapes? or at least provide a link where i can learn about the different pick shapes?

Thanks that helps some. The reply didn't completely answer the guys question but its all good. one question though, what exactly makes a pick a Bogota? Ive seen pictures and the tutorial but cannot figure out what seperates it from normal picks.

A bogota is a rake designed by a mamber here, his name is Raimundo. It's a highly effective tool.

The name makes it a bogota. Just like a short hook makes a short hook a short hook. Also the fact that it's effectiveness at popping locks is addictive like it's name suggests.

Yea, i know its made by a forum member, but the shape is what makes it a bogota?, it just looked like a pick to me..

Yes, but it has to have a name. If you were an entomologist you would create a new name for any insect you found, astonomers need to name stars, auto makers car models.

It has to have a classification. The bogota's classification is rake, and it's name bogota. Just like a snake rake, w rake, L rake... the bogota is a style all it's own among rakes.

In this case it is both of those as well. Since Raimundo is the one who invented the design he is the one who seems to be the one who makes them the best. So, the only true bogota is from Rai himself. Everything else is a bogota style rake.
