Unpickable / Anti pick? you tell me.

Hi, as promised. This is the padlock that I was talking about in my recent topic. The manufacturer claims this to be anti pick/ non pickable. True or false?. And if true HOW??.. Sorry about the blurness of the pics, will get better ones. It was my phone's cam.. Will try disassembling the padlock later on.

Looks like a disk detainer, and a pretty simple one at that, perhaps some cheaper chinese knock off of an abloy.

Not unpickable but with conventional pin tumbler picks it's not going to happen quickly.

Nothing to do with the lock, but personally I think anyone who posts or attaches pictures larger than 800x600 pixels without posting them as a link should be taken outside and repeatedly kicked in the nuts. This crap of having to scroll sideways to read a post has me thinking of just disabling the attachment feature it gets under my skin so much. (No offense to the OP as you likely didn't know just how big they would post as). I'll get off my soap box now ;-) .
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Thats just a plain old disc detainer lock you have there, you can get them from ebay cheap, some bottom tension, some top and some just to be really annoying, random tension like in the middle , their not unpickable if you have the corect tool and alot of practise!
if everyone who tried something new liked it but didnt bother telling anyone else there would never be anything new to try...

Thanks zeke79 for the advice. Will be wiser next time. Would'nt want to get my nuts killed, while im still using it. Any ideas of how the tools look like?. Can I use regular tools to pick?. e.g. rake..?

Here is the response I got when I posted the same question/lock (look under “need help with a new lock” in this section.
Its just a disk lock m8, there is a pick for this type of lock and I have used one successfully on a couple of similar locks I have here, it has 8 disks in it and it can be quite a challenging lock, not something for the beginner.
Then the post was locked because
Disk lock picking is allowed in the advanced area of the site.
And don’t feel bad, my pictures were VERY BIG as well. I glad someone didn’t want to kick me in my nuts because of it

Now now, don’t be hating. Maybe you could offer to help instead? Remember we are beginners as everyone was at one point in time and could use a little help in how to make adjustments to photos we download. Some people just aren’t as computer savvy as others. I’ve searched over this site and read the photo sections but I didn’t see anything on how to make adjustments in download size. If there is a link here somewhere could someone please post it? If not maybe someone could let beginners know how to re-size the pictures in photo bucket or other picture download sites. Or give us the link to “photo downloads for dummies”? I tried in photo bucket with the last batch I posted and they still came out really big. Thanks as always for all your time and help.

To see what one of the picks might look like, go to newsparkling trading co and under the locksmiths section, look for the part # 1097, this one is top of the stack tensioning and it will work on that cheap chinese lock you have,
the lock is a good one and will keep out anyone who is without the pick just as well as some high security locks will.
tensioning is extremely light, and you only have to fiddle the pick tip back and forth at each of the discs in turn, don't try to feel anything, just light tension, and when the can turns, you will feel that.
With this pick, its not even a skill, its just inevitable that it will pick fairly quickly if you don't over tension or over intellectualize and think youself into a knot. Just dont try to open it, just start twiddleing the discs around and then move to the next disc, the discs know where they want to be and don't force them to do what you want as the lock is smarter than you.

These locks are knockoffs of the abloy system, still made best by abloy, none of what I said about them applies to the original abloys.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
