I just wanted to know why 1 school..whichever it is..would be better than the rest for learning the basics of the locksmith trade. In Vancouver, Canada there are no apprenticeship programs.

A Buddy I don’t know what ICS is but more than likely it’s a school. But not one I’ve been Too but I can reply on Foley –Belsaw I have gradated from their home school program and it’s alright man they hook you up total price was six hundred and you get a key cutting machines and different types of locks to pick open and if your like me that shit is fun as hell the price might have change but the program probably still the same opening locks and passing quiz’s but it comes with some picks one rake one tension tool and when I enrolled they offered a free pick gun but I had to pas all my classes first to receive it ! But it’s your decision. Abel Aguilera.

There are several threads about Foley Belsaw on this site. Here a link to one.

I took the Foley Belsaw course a few years ago and it was a decent program. You won't learn everything. The chapter on picking is pretty standard stuff compared to this site. It may have changed since then. I remember the section concerning vehicles and auto mobiles are sort of weak, but you do get a key machine and looks to be a good base if you have absolutely no knowledge of the trade.
