Klom tubular pick - any good ? does it pick a lot of locks ?

Postby swaps » 14 Mar 2009 13:52

Hi all,
I was a member here a couple of years ago but forgot my user name, not been back for some time. I was p-retty quick at picking most locks but got bored then they became too easy for me to pick. I came accroos my picks the other day by accident and picked a couple of lock. Im not as quick as I was but still got the touch. Anyway Im looking to try locks I have not done before so tubular locks spring to mind. There are some decent prices on the Klom tubular pick and just wanted to know is this a good choice ? if not what pick with do the most 7 pin locks ? I dont know much about these locks are they all the same size ? any infor would be great. Im in the UK, not sure if there is a difference between uk / USA tubulars ?

Thanks Alan

The 7 pin tubular is the most common. It will be the same in the US as the UK. The following is a post I made in this thread on the Klom Tubular Pick. http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=42947
The tubular seems to hang up on the quick reset, it catches and requires a little bit of a fight to get it to work. I've never had one of these and it seems the fingers do not tighten down as they should. When they are as tight as I can get them the fingers will still move if you try to pick a lock. I have 2 locks to use this pick on, one is a Ace ll and I have yet to pick it with this pick, but I have single pin picked it with other tools. The other is a cheap ace and it will unlock every time by just inserting it into the lock.

I had a KLOM, it was rubbish. The pins are that good a quality. You cant beat Southord they are worth the money.
