High Tech Pick Set

Does anyone have information on the "High Tech Pick Set" made by Majestic. This is the one I am referring to : http://www.lockpicks.com/hightechpickset.aspx

I understand they are used for raking but I don't see how they are any more effective due to their shape.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
vmikulich

I can see the use of it for jiggling, but for raking they are no better then any other rake as far as I can tell.
So, if you want to jiggle, they might be helpful ;)

It's just another product someone dreamed up. No better or worse than other products out there.

The problem with selling lockpicks is there are tried and true pick designs that most people stick with. It's because they work. If you want to sell a product you need to come up with something fresh and different.

It's exactly the same as the fishing lure industry. Not one fishing lure has ever been purchased because the fisherman knows for a fact it will catch fish. They just know it looks cool and want to try it out.

i read somewhere that they are called high tech because of the computer generated pattern of the rake.

Yep, they're computer generated based on common pinning patterns. I reckon you could SPP a lock in half the time it takes to go through a bunch of these to find one which actually opens the lock with minimal raking. Not much use for them in my opinion.
