both are simple if you have the tools and knowledge, however in my opion a lever lock takes more skill and patience.

Thanks for that. it was much along the lines i was thinking.
Also do most curtained locks need pre lifted? The locks i have dont seem to have any
room between levers and curtain.

Not all mortice locks need pre-lifting. In fact the majority dont. There are of course low levers in some, but thats part of the skill i was talking about. What pick are you using?

The pick is a bit of a work in progress.
interlocked car aerial ,thin wire and coat hanger.
It should work with a few mods.
Running out of coat hangers and patientce though.

You could always use umbrella spokes or bicycle.

Dean,I hope you don,t mean that pintumblers don,t need skill and patience,I can name a couple of pintumblers if you want to practice skill and patience

IMHO there are easy to pick leverlocks as there are simple easy pintumblers to pick within seconds, but we all know there are also these locks who ask a LOT of patience and even MORE skill
