Kwikset

On a Kiwkset door knob I didnt want to use my A1 puller to remove the tulip from handle so I removed the stem and tried to knock it out from the back. It didnt want to come out so I quit before I broke something. I looked for a answer on past posts but didnt see anything about this. So do I contuine with a punch and hammer to knock it out? In case your wondering why not just use the puller? I want to learn other ways of doing things in case I dont have a puller with me.

Hmmm.... I've rekeyed several Kwiksets, and have never had to use a puller, punch, or hammer. I'm with Unlisted, what exactly are you actually trying to do?

You may have a kwikset Titan. If so you need to pick it to the left (counter clockwise) and once you turn it 45 degrees it should come apart. If it is a Titan it should have 6 pins in it.

After you have removed the spindle you insert the cylinder removal tool. If you have a Kwikset pinning kit there is one included with it. Or you can but it seperately.
