Souber Tools web site

Postby Houdini Locksmiths » 5 Jun 2004 5:27

I was wondering if anyone could answer this question. When will the Souber Tools web site be up and running again? Also where would I be able to purchase a set of Lever try-out keys here in the United Kingdom.

Thanks

I've no idea about the Souber site - I've been trying it for bloody ages. I think they just bought the domain and that's about it.

The lever try outs are available from SKS but I would suggest that you learn to pick with wires first (and they're cheaper)
sledgehammers make excellent back up picks!

Thanks Jason, Would you happen to know the Web site address?

I've Been practicing the opening of 2 diferent Lever locks:

2 Lever ERA
3 Lever Sashlock

I made my own lifting lever tools from a coat hanger, this is only a temp set until I purchase a set from my supplier.

Thanks again

I've never seen the Souber tools up & running before. I contacted them via an email address I found and they told me that they were only wholesalers to ther distributors - they did not sell their products direct to the public.

John Richard's has sets of 2, 3 & 5 try out keys, as do a few others. They're expensive and they ALWAYS ask for proof of being a locksmith.

SKS are good for the try outs as jason mentioned. Also think about a 2 in 1 pick at £50 approx, they work very well on most non curtained locks with practice. Or the good old 2 wires at £15 for a pack. http://www.skskeys.co.uk They will ask for proof you are a locksmith for their records before supplying.

You can buy Lever tryout Keys from this UK company:

http://locksmith-tools.co.uk

They don't show them in their online catalogue but if you email them they will tell you they sell them. They also sell spring steel wire, which can be used to make good picking tools for lever locks.

hi

as jason said souber will not supply direct , they only supply large wholesalers.

the 2 and 3 lever jigglers are obtainable from all wholesalers, they are a little hit and miss and wont open many 2 and 3 lever ranges, though will open some 5 lever, in fact a 101 member opened an era invincible bs 3621 lock with them.

you are better off with an rb locktools pa101 2 in 1 pick which opens all and any non curtain lock excluding 7g locks as you need a 7g pick for these.
