What are other ways to open a combo padlock without a shim?

I have a normal yale combo padlock here, and I think shims kind of take away some of the fun, are there any other ways to open these

You mean there's no method or technique to it?

Shim or try to guess out of 60,000 combinations?

For the newer master padlocks, there are not 60,000 combinations but other than breaking the padlock, you either have to shim it or brute force it, yes.

I believe combo locks are in the advanced section because they are so widely used to keep people out of stuff. If they are in advanced we can't talk about methods to open them in the general area.

I was just letting him know they were advanced. I figured he would wonder why no one was telling him anything except for shims and brute force.

But we can talk about opening the common Master Lock pin tumbler and warded locks? What about the Kwikset and Schlage residential and commercial locks that are used on almost all homes and businesses in the United States?

I could of just as easily come along, and mention its advanced, say its not open for discussion and locked your thread- but I was in a good mood.

Now, since pple are going off course, it will be locked.
