Property is never as important as human life, which is why I would laugh if one of these "delayed egress" dumps burns straight to the ground.

Most are tied into the fire alarm to release immediately in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Most are tied into the fire alarm to release immediately in the event of a fire or other emergency.

There is far too many of these permitted in Ontario- in common public areas at malls, big box stores, etc..

And regardless of being hooked up to the fire alarm- the ones here are, but only on confirmed EVAC OR sprinkler alarm- pull station still has a delay.

Having many panicked people seeing a fire in a store, and running for a door, finding it locked, and the next one, can cause a really bad situation. Trampling, etc...

I understand their purpose, agree they should be used, but I do not agree how overused they are in PUBLIC spaces in Ontario.
