Hello all, I am a new member but before i start i just want to give u a bit of info on myself. I am a lead auto tech in ohio, and for those that dont know right now we are in a world of hurt in our area. Basicly after talking to the area tow drivers and hearing them complain about auto lockouts and how basicly no one will do them after hours or on weekends to mabey grab a few dollors and to help us bring in some new customers, i decided to do a little home work. I have to say, talking to area locksmiths was a complete dead end. Basicly i was looking for training or where they learned to do there trade, for auto lockouts only, not for them to tell me how to do it, and was amazed at the hostile response. So to the web i went and i must say this site is a gold mine. I really app the posts and for the most part many of my ?s have been answered and a few i had not even thought of. We have a pretty good set of wedges, air blatter, and reachers. (Sigh, i must admit ive locked a few keys in the car with it running auto locks lol) But to be honest i think the picking is the way to go, haveing replaced just about every kind of window regulator or motor i know how tight and how much crap they pack into the doors. So ive ordered my first set of picks from southord and in a few days will start learning the trade. I app the info from u guys. After talking to the local police and having a reputable buss allready and knowing all the local tow companys i am hoping this will really take off but first and formost the practice! Any words of advice would be greatly app. Our area is mostly the big 3 and alot of hondas, and a small mix of euro cars. Sorry bout the book.

you say you need help practicing...there are 3 things you must have to practice... tools, you say you ordered, time, I cant help, and locks, this is where i will offer help; ebay... pick a car punch in the name and i almost garuntee the lock will be on there... and in plenty of supply. we are not allowed to talk about opening cars in the open forums, just read some books, you should be fine

Or there is the Car Opening Authority CD and book put out by HPC company, the same who sell lockpicks, google lockpicks and they should come up. there is another car opening manual but I forgot the name of it. It comes with a kit of long wires etc. and will show you where to put which wire into each different make and model covered, You may be able to buy this manual on ebay or somewhere online. For automotive that is the best reccommendation. Look for one of the dedicated books, they may be available to mechanics through one of the tool catalogs you would have, so search the indexes of these. A junk yard, the pick your own part kind, would be the place to practice opening car doors, and about locking keys in a car that is running, you should probably get in the habit of leaving one of the back doors open right after entering the car with the key, this will help prevent lockouts with the motor running.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
