I was trying to steer you away from buying a smaller but more expensive set with the book. Those basic picks would be fine to try out lockpicking. My only concern would be that I can't tell if those picks have handles. I'm thinking they don't. The most basic picks are just shapes punched out of sheet metal. The more expensive ones have two more sheets cut out and attached to the body of the pick to make a handle. You might be able to see the difference by checking the pics at these to links.

I would recommend you stay away from a set with just plain handles.
Thank you for the advice.
So out of these tools... which do you recommend for a basic set?
I know that i require a tension wrench, and a pick... But where i need help is which should I get? A long pick or a short one? Does it matter?
