Is this a decent set?

Postby majikfx » 3 Dec 2009 3:18

Hi,
I read the stickies where it says you should aim for "this" type of set, but the link was broken. I'm new at this stuff and I want a kit to practice with an open say my house and garage doors. I live in Australia and I want to know if this set is decent?

Thanks in advance!

Looks like the Sha-lon set. No hands-on experience with them myself but they're supposed to be on par with the goso picks, which are pretty below average. They're definately useable though, and there is a great selection of hooks there, but you actually only need a few sizes of hook so personally I'd choose something with more variety. Something with a couple of sizes of hook, a half diamond and a couple of basic rakes for when you need them.

Okay. Thanks for the information regarding that product. It seems as though I'll have to import it from the US. The thing is I don't know which kit I need for Australia's locks. It seems as though there are different sets for the US and Europe/Japan.

Any ideas on which one to buy for Australian locks?

yea but that guy picking that lock only pick like one hole.. those where anderson hickey locks.. very hard to pick because they have mushroom pin very hard springs.. any lock picks are good as long as you are easy with them you can use a paper clip to pick a lock if you had to..david
