The warded lock has a few latches, which are probably evenly spaced. I'm guessing they're springs in the shape of U's, and the key pulls the two ends apart and disengages the bolt, it unlocks, etc. One is even visible and is right next to the opening of the keyhole. The wards are randomly placed. The problem is, a skeleton key doesn't work because there is more than one latch, and I can't think of any way to pick it. Any ideas?
When you unlock it, you can see the multiple wires that prevent the bolt from moving upwards. The bolt has grooves that allow it to one in one direction, in, but not in the other direction. Also, I think there is another latch keeping the bolt from moving up on the other end of the U shape (not the latch, but the bolt U), the part that stays in the lock but moves up and down.
