Diagram or instructions for breaking down Master no. 575?

Hey all, this is my first post but I have used the search and none of the previous information on the 575 includes breaking it down. I am clearly new to locksmithing/picking, and I figure it is good training to break down the locks I have with me. There are few padlocks available for purchase here..the 575, the 140 and the 993DPF. I pick the 575 and 993 very easily and want to maybe add some security pins that I have into both of them, but I can't figure out how the 575 breaks down. I wonder if I need to drill where the silver plug type thing is on the side of the lock? It also had 2 pin holes like many other padlocks have..what are these holes for? The plug is so loose, i can't imagine it is not made to come out. Thanks!

Those holes are weep holes for water or anything else that might get in there. If it has a removable core, it should have a hex nut under the shackle you can undo to drop the core out.

With a regular I-core padlock all you need to do is open the shackle, undo the screw and the core will fall out. The safety lockouts and pro series work like this, but the 575 isn't actually designed to have the core removed. The retaining pin is inserted drill and tap style into the side of the cylinder, through the actual body of the lock... so yes, you're on the right track about the pin on the side.

Because of one little thing I'm probably not allowed to mention though, removal of that pin is considered a destructive form of bypass... and you know how that goes. By the sounds of things you'll be able to figure it out though.

Yea there is no screw in the 575.

Oh ok solomon, thanks. I don't need the lock, I just bought it to pick and learn with, so Ill see if I cant get that pin to fall out today
