the two pins closest to you when you're loooking at the face of the lock are at the lowest position so they may not need to be set or other wise lifted very little. the pin farthest from you needs to be lifted the highest so if you're starting at the back of the lock and working your way toward you you could be under-lifting the far pin or you could be raising the two closer ones too high with the back of your pick when picking the other pins.
