ToooL Credit Card pick

Postby Eyes_Only » 16 Jan 2010 17:13

I wanted to ask a question about the credit card pickset made by ToooL. After you've cut/bend/punched out each pick out of the "card" can you use something like JB Kwik/JB Weld to try and put it back together into the card form?
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

I wouldn't JB weld is probably stronger than the original joining points... maybe doing like Lockpickarmy and laminating the set would work well, albiet he did it on his own picks not that set... but it might pan out well for your purpose. Just a thought

This is why I bought 2 sets. One to keep as a nice collectible, and one to break apart and use as needed.

The new set v2.0 has holes in each pick so you can put it on a split ring on a keychain after you break it apart. security snobs sells them.

That was a good idea adding the holes... do the TWs around the perimeter have the holes too?

I dont know if this is the same depends on what you mean by laminating but, if you go to office depot or what ever office store is around you and buy the cheap plastic laminates that you peal and stick but only use one half so when you take it out from the non laminate side then you can put it back in and the laminate from the other side will be sticky. They will stick into place and it will look original it may work for a long time untill you get to much lint or dirt behind where the picks go but if you leave it out beside you untill your ready to put them back in it should last.

I meant heat lamination... not the sticky kind... that'll get gunk all over your picks.

I dono Ive used it as a peal off before over and over with good results I dont see why it would make a difference with a pick I was using it on stainless as well if thats what the card picks are try it out.
