im thinking of putting this on my site

reference to Key holding and alarm response .


my rate to carry a set of keys for a period of 12 months £90 plus VAT per annum . for each site.
I will replace the loss of keys with new locks free of charge with ext keys cut
Our Alarm response rate is £40 plus VAT per callout should it be necessary this also covers the first hour spent on site any additional time over this is charged at £20 plus VAT per hour thereafter.


The above rates are applicable whether day, night or weekends. Statutory Bank Holidays are charged at same rate. Payment terms are 30 days nett from date of invoice.

the keys will be locked in a safe with your shops locations in code
the only person with the code will be me when transporting the keys
the safe will be bolted in the back of the van and the van as got the top of the range
locks so you will have 100% peace of mind they are safe

I am or so a maintenance man so if i get called out and some one as
broke in with force ill be able to fix the problem if needed or temporally secure your shop

Do you have the same liability issues as the US? No matter how well you protect the keys, the mere fact that they are under your control makes liability a concern.

Mmmm. How would you handle transfer of ownership? IE- someone sells the house or whatever and you still have keys- do you return them or are the keys managed in perpetuity?

And would you need backups of the keys in case your van had an incident?

How about just managing the information of location, key blank, depths and spacing instead? Data is more portable and easier to protect.

Key holding is strictly controlled under SIA regulations in the UK so you can leave yourself open for a good humping if anything goes wrong and you are not licensed and insured. http://sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/home/licen ... who_kh.htm

oh and the cost of that insurance is extortianate as is the strong room or bankers grade safes that you must have.
