door anchors

noticed a product called the door anchor; 'portable lock'
It appears you close it into the door strike plate when you shut the door and then bend the end over the handle to prevent entry.
Great stuff if your inside and dont want to be raped in the night...

surely a couple of bolts do the job better, or is the selling point here just the portable aspect of it

Similar in idea to what I call the Travel Lock, which I thought was made by Ideal, but can't find a link or pic at the moment.
It's a piece of metal that hooks into the strike, then you close the door and a second piece of metal slides against the door and in held in position by notches and a spring.

Portability is it's selling point.

It looks not very effective againts DE-particularly a "street punk" style attack. The device also looks
velnerable to a fairly easy bypass ( will not discuss here).
