I know there is already a topic the same as my problem not far below mine but its just not helping me. My problem is that when i am picking my deadbolt and door knob, the cylinder moves but the lock on the deadbolt doesnt retract nor does the knob. I tried taking a second tension wrench and inserting it into the back to turn the cam but it just wont work. Can someone please explin in detail what to do. I tried searching but couldnt find anything else in the forum. Thank you
I'm unsure of the type of lock that you're picking... But are you sure you've got the lock completely picked? (Are all of the pins at their shear line?) It just may happen that you have a lock that has security pins in them (Mushroom pins/spool pins). And it may even be that you've actually have the cylinder picked in the wrong direction, try picking the lock again just the opposite direction... From my experience I'm pretty sure that most deadbolt locks need to be picked to the inside direction of the door to retract and unlock. Good luck, and happy picking!
Yeah, so many posts just popped on top. But it´s nice to see that all those old posts still get readers. There is a lot of good info buried there. Have fun digging, I know I did. -Wizer
