Not very good lock picker, difficult lock

Postby slash0909 » 22 Mar 2010 12:46

Hey guys, very nice site set up here. Anyways, my crazy relative has locked away my money, yes my $550 bucks, to use for their own benefit and I am utterly hopeless in the situation as they have convinced all who would be of aid to me that it is THEIR money. Crazy family for sure. Anyways, relating this to lockpicking, the money is locked in an old octagonal Swiss Musical Movement box by reuge; the box is octagonal in shape and the lock appears to be sort of like a skeleton key lock. however the paper clip skeleton key methods I've tried all have no positive results.

Being experts, I was curious is you could aid me in any way, it would be greatly appreciated as I need money to fix my tires for a road trip in just a few days, so I'm getting fairly desperate and I'd rather deal with this at home than go to the police or some higher authority that would only end up in major conflict.

This is the url for the box company, although I could not locate the one in my possesion.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Crazy relative? as in your parents? who don't want you to blow your money on some teenage road trip that they don't want you taking?

We're not here to help young people subvert their parents or legal guardians. Sorry dude. If this is so serious, and some crazy aunt or someone you've been placed in the care of is claiming that some money of yours is theirs now, then you need to call a lawyer and get out of the situation you are in. More conflict will occur over time if you don't fix this now.

keep it honest and keep it legal.

What an ugly first post. My suggestion doesn't involve lock picking at all because the music box doesn't belong to you, two wrongs don't make a right and what if you break the box/lock and what will happen when your crazy relative finds out the money is gone? will he come after you with a gun?
I've watched enough Judge Judy re-runs to know that common sense prevails.
Sit your crazy relative down and talk to them, telling them why it's your money and could you please have it back, otherwise you will be forced to take other means of action you get the money back.
Write them a letter, keep a copy for yourself, be civilised.
When all that fails tell your relative you'll call the police (maybe they'll just hand the money over then), plus it already sounds like you have major conflict of interest if someone's taken your money. Sit outside and wait for the police to come, when the police turn up you want to be thinking of how can you prove the money is yours and producing that to them simply saying all you want is your money back and all is good.

It seems these type of posts pop up once every couple of weeks.

This site is PRIMARILY for the recreational/sport picker. I don't see how people don't at all get that when they sign up.

You're not going to get any help with a question like this here, sorry, but I'd say move along  . I'm not trying to be a snob, but giving instruction to a first time poster on how to pick/break open someone's property to get "their" money back isn't what this community is about.

Good luck on your road trip. 8)

Wow some people these days, thinking that because their life is all happy go lucky I'm just some smiley faced kid looking for a road trip. Well, I don't know if you guys have ever tried to "talk" to a bi-polar catatonic schizophrenic, but they get a little mad. I mean, don't get me wrong this person tries to assault me all the time, but they're fairly weak and a little shorter than me, so in general it's not so bad. However, I will tell you that I don't really have a choice here. I know you may think I'm just some half-assed lazy douche that wants to steal money from people, but for some of us life isn't too easy-- not that I'm judging you. Now, there are the people that always abide by the "legal system" even when its morally wrong because that's easy, but I don't take that stand. So far, good ole' government issued help has put me in pshycological programs, that's right, ME! Not that fucker who made me take care of my self for years. The best I've gotten is they were off somewhere distant for about a month and I was left at peace. So I'm not even asking for your help anymore, but I don't think you should judge my life situation or my means simply because of one post. All i hoped for was somewhere that I could turn to, to get a road trip to get the out of here for a few days with my friends. But hell, that'd cost money.

You're missing the point. This site isn't here to help people open other people's property. Must of us are here because it is our hobby, we enjoy the challenge of picking locks. On top of that you're asking us to help you break the two rules most lock sport people abide by; don't try to pick a lock that is in use and don't pick locks that don't belong to you.

Sorry about your crazy family, but this isn't the place for it.

No drama here, we just chill and pick locks. 8)

I'll judge you by one post.. and your second.

Thanks for playing, but I know your full of s***. Next time try getting the medical term jargon more proper, and it may seem more plausible.

Later.

Yeah, if your relative was in fact catatonic as you stated I don't think you would have had the problem of them stealing your money.... I have seen some threads that were out there but I think this one takes the cake.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Yeah, catatonics, like taking candy from a baby. its the malignant narcissists that you really have to watch out for, if the music box is not labeled diebold or mosler, try a sledgehammer, that will usually work for a music box.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
