Sneaky thing I've done with my apartment is post a sign:
DAY SLEEPER
NO SOLICITING
RESIDENT DOES NOT
ANSWER THE DOOR
Some of my friends do this too. If I was a burglar, I wouldn't get near one of these. Just make sure you keep the bedroom door shut so they can't see the bed is empty
