My bike key warped out of shape

Postby Neo » 19 Jul 2010 3:20

Basically, I need to bust my bike lock.
It's this kind of lock and brand:

Yeah, the key basically warped. The lock kept getting more and more stiff, and I was tempted not to lock it up this last time. However, I didn't feel like getting my bike stolen, so I locked it up, Anyway, the key fell apart and warped. So, now I need to bust off the lock. I'm going to have to take the bus with it and walk it to my apartment. I don't have any power tools except a drill. I'm not sure if I can take a sledgehammer to it and break it apart that way.

I don't have a grinder. I don't have much besides a drill.
Ideas?

update:

I tried turning the key in the lock with some pliers. The key snapped off into the lock. That sucks pretty hard. I'm guessing I'm going to need bolt cutters?
