hello all. i know you guys get dumb questions all the time and this might fall into the pile but i have a question and figured you guys would be the best to ask.
so here goes. on the bottom of most newer lock you have the keyway. and a very small hole directly below it. what is the purpose of the opening.
plus i would like to brag (hey tis a big deal to me) that i finally opened an Abus N. 85/40 from germany. i know thats small time to most of you but it was one of my harder locks. so atleast i know i am improving. thanks in advance to anybody that can help me out with my question.

It is to drain rainwater out.
Nice work with the Abus, sometimes they´re quite hard!
Happy picking!

locks used outdoors in cold climates can freeze up if water is not drained. in other climates they just rust and get balky
