How do I Tide Myself Over?

Postby belril » 15 Oct 2010 0:26

Hey all,

I supported Schuyler's Kickstarter project, and am currently waiting for my picks. I understand they're probably a while off due to manufacturing times and so forth, and that's alright, but in the meantime, I've been well and truly bitten by the lockpicking bug. So, how would y'all recommend that I, with minimal expense, keep myself from going stir-crazy?

Thanks,
Belril

Make yourself a short hook and a tension wrench. Next get a cheap padlock, maybe a master #3 and get to work. There are numerous guides on this site to making lock picks as well as templates. If this doesn't sound good to you I recommend reading up as much as you can and watching videos of people picking locks. There is so much to learn that you could spend weeks reading and barely scrape the surface.

Well, you can do what i am doing (which still drives me crazy after doing it over and over again). Print out the lock picking guide and read it from cover to cover, when your done watch lots of youtube videos a few times, then go back to reading the guide agan. If all else fails try and hunt down more locks for when your picks arrive and just play around with them a little. Now that mine are only 1 day away from being delivered i am absolutly going off the deep end with anticipation to try them out. You could also just try the old saftey pin/bobby pin way, its frustrating as hell but it can help tide the cravings over until they arrive.

MASTER LOCKS are easy start with them. If you are practicing on some other lock, name it and someone might have advice on that brand.
