Trouble with miwa wafer lock

Hey,
I just got a miwa double sided wafer lock and its giving me alot of trouble. Ive tried picking the wafers, but to be honest im not sure exactly how they should feel. Like if i lift one with tension, it tends to click at a point that is lower then i know it should be from the key. Ive tried sliding a piece of phone card and jiggling it like a jiggler key (im hoping when i get some here this lock will be easy, maybe). I find myself over setting alot of the discs, or this is what i think im doing wrong.

I feel like im missing something, how should the disc look and feel I imagine is what I need to know.
