Little problem (lock picked and stuck at 180 degrees)

Postby mooshie00 » 10 Dec 2010 10:47

Hi there poeple,
Ive got a question about lockpicking (i ran into this problem during picking GERDA lock). After picking a lock and turning it by about 180 degrees, the barrel suddenly stops, and it wont move anymore (maybe just a tiny bit). Is there any protection system i dont know about or wat?

thanx anyway,

Mike

Sounds suspiciously like you rotated it 180 degrees and the driver pins got pushed into the plug. Just for future reference, the search function is your best friend. Pretty much anything you could want is already answered. Try "180 degrees" or "stuck".

But, this one time, here's how to fix your problem:

Aaaaand another variant on the same answer:

Bear in mind the Gerda locks have 4 sets of pins at 90 degrees to each other so technically you need to pick it again every 90 degree turn (you may have got lucky on the first 90 degerees and only hit trouble when you reached 180 degrees) BTW I have several of these locks and would be interested in picking techniques for them. They have a couple of serious security weaknesses in Master/Sub Master installations if you are able to get hold of keys for even a VERY short amount of time.
