1. You need a medeco code machine, and knowledge of how to cut them. It isn't a simple case of cutting them all to 9 like a regular key.
2. Yes, but you'd need to be extremely lucky and/or have a lock with a very easy sidebar code (ie. all or mostly center cuts).
3. In short, yes. Whether or not it works is a different matter, and depends on a variety of factors.
4. Extrapolation of the TMK, or copying the target key. Without prior intel on the sidebar code or access to keys, or specialised decoding equipment, you'll need practice - and lots of it.
5. Yes. People have been doing it reliably for years, no medecoder required. Just look on youtube.
6. Pick guns are very unreliable, bump keys require a code machine to cut and only work on a certain percentage of locks, manual picks take a crazy amount of practice. That's about as much detail as I'm willing to go into.

I highly recommend you read "Open in 30 seconds" by marc weber tobias. You will find the answers to all of your questions in much more detail there.

Uhm..

Don't pick locks you do NOT own, and don't pick locks in use.

All I am going to say on this one.. Cause I don't see any good coming of this one.

Hi somebody has to fill out some of your curiousity, i understand the mentality of a begginer..since ive been there before too. i want to see the title..then the conclusion. I will try and answer #4. well for me the best reliable way to open a medeco (aside from its key of course) is by picking with the aid of JK medeco groove grabber.
hi everyone, im glad to be a member of this very interesting community, our community of locksmiths. i hope i could help others, within my ability, and hope you can help me too, God bless us all fellow locksmiths.

I'm with unlisted with this one, as a hobbiest site and the OP is no doubt of any expererienced more than a week hobbiest picker a total begginer, why is he starting with a medeco and having another post asking for medeco bump keys. That just really does not sound good at all. With that you can pick them in under a minute with a short hook, why need a bump key or any kind of special tools? I am again all about having a sticky for country, state, city lawyer links who specialize in criminal defense...
