Need Help identifying this Yale Mortise Cylinder

Postby Mk303 » 1 Jan 2011 17:46

I am trying to identify this Yale Mortise door lock Cylinder. I've seen many that are similar but cant seem to figure out exactly which model it is. The small notch on the bottom right of the slot is the one features I cant seem to find on any of the similar locks. Its a few years old

It looks similar to an A620 or a K660

That picture really sucks. Is it one of these?

If so, I have no idea what the exact model is. I might be able to find out, but why does it matter? If it's just a case of you not being able to pick it, knowing the model isn't gonna help. It's a standard 5 pin cylinder with between 2 and 4 spool pins. No big shakes... just keep practicing. :)

It looks very similar to the one you posted except mine has a small notch at the bottom of the lock as well. That is the one characteristic that I have not seen on other locks.

Im having trouble working the pins because of the curved "S" at the top of the slot. I guess I will keep practicing

I'm not sure what you mean about the "notch". It's probably just the warding of the keyway, but without a clear pic it's hard to see what you're talking about. Can you try and get a better pic? There should be a macro button on your camera (the icon looks like a flower), if you have macro setting on it'll focus much better on close-up objects.

That keyway gets easier with practice, don't think too much about it and you'll be fine. :D
