information on pushbutton non-electrical keyless locks

Postby davidbenjamindix » 8 Jan 2011 19:25

im trying to build a cypher-type push-button non-electrical combination lock. since they are keyless, i actually want to build one in combination with a pin tumbler lock, so the entire thing can be picked. the problem is there are no threads/schematics/drawings/specs/diagrams that actually instruct how the push buttons work. is there somewhere i should be looking for any schematics?

That is because these are in the advanced user section under combination locks. But you might try doing some serachs online for them Kaba-Ilco makes a few and has schematics on there web site try using the search for either unicam or simplex locks on google. Thats the best I can help due to this being of advanced nature.

thanks, i just tried those searches, and found not a single site that has a schematic or the interior mechanisms. the only schematics are detailed plans on installing the lock. thanks for the suggestion though.

I tried
simplex lock how work
and immediately found two relevant results.

Searching with google is usually quite effective, you just need to use the right query.
