Need manual for Cole 4KCC duplicating machine

Postby Poff » 22 Jan 2011 14:55

Does anyone have an extra owners manual they are willing to part with or scan and email to me? Specifically, I am looking for the maintenance and adjustment information.

I have one of those machines, I don't have a manual either. What are you having problems with? No manual can really tell you how to adjust your machine, that just comes from practice and trial and error. Those are not a bad machine, just expensive for parts, I know the cutters for those usually run about 80 dollars brand new, that's alot compared to other brands.

I don't have any problems, I just noticed that there are some adjustments on the stylus. I guess as long as the cutting wheel and stylus both hit the vises at the same time they are aligned. Commonsense should tell me where to lubricate but you never know. It's nice to have exploded diagrams, too.

Put a blank KW1 in each vise, the cutter should just barely scrap the key when the you push up against the stylus and cutter. If it don't scrap, or scrapes too much, you need to just add or take away on the stylus. As far as lube, a drop on the guide rod for the vises is good, all other parts are sealed unit, and don't require lubrication.
