I lost my keys to the lock I use on my locker... The brand is "ABUZ" and right underneath is "Tough Security". Sure is, since I can't get access to my books now. Anyways, I don't know anything about lockpicking, but I was wondering if there is a way that I can pick this sort of lock or do I just have to get some giant clippers and work some muscles...

Sorry, Christine. There is nothing we can say over the internet to help you pick this lock. Those "giant clippers" is your best option, ask the janitor if you can borrow them. Have a nice day!

@introuble: Sorry but you will have to ask the authorized person in whatever building which allowed you to use their locker (school, college, employer, etc.) to destructively remove your lock... Next time keep better track of your spare key... ~~ Evan

@Evan: I guess so xD I asked the janitor to cut the lock, was just hoping I didn't have to destroy the lock since it's actually my sister's... But thanks anyways, guys

I just want to point out that these remarks don't help. People asking this kind of question happens a lot. One of the common themes you will see is that someone will mention that it can't be discussed, but to hang around because there are lots of "good people" here, and then someone almost always throws out something like this. It doesn't reflect very well on the community. I also feel like it makes us seem like we don't want to discuss anything, which is one of the complaints I see a bunch about the lock companies. So, it comes across as a bit of pot calling the kettle black. Not that I am trying to single out calvinism by any stretch, I see it a lot on here.

shut up n00b! lol, just kidding, I had to throw something in there.. I think we're in the clear to do that, after all, look at the posters most recent follow up, a little admission that lolz, the lock isn't even hers its her sisters.. honestly i don't even believe that story. People shouldn't expect to come here and post a question without any searching and expect, and I do mean EXPECT us to have an answer immediately as if we are a 1-800-ask-a-locksmith support line. Then if you don't reply within an hour, they follow up with 'anyone?!?!' I far more respect someone who at least tried first and then asks but asks a legit question and is upfront.. None of us like o play 20 questions trying to get the full story from someone. Although I know what you're saying. the original poster sees the 'rat' replies as well, it's not like they're a behind the scenes commentary that only 'insiders' get to see and have a good chuckle about. So yeah, we should limit name calling, but I don't mind calling someone out when their story is fishy. My personal biggest pet peeve when it comes to forums is people who don't read rules or do read them and still post sensitive information or ask questions they really shouldn't be. I do feel bad about the local handyman or landlord who needs to actually get into a washing machine coin box and we have to turn him away, but hey, that's what a locksmith is for, we cant give away certain info. I used to install covert security cameras to catch people in low income apartments and you'd be amazed at the scams going on. Poor folks surprisingly all have iphones and internet access so they can google things like how to trick out the washer dryer to do free laundry. The last place, this skanky meth addict resident was giving the locksmith sexual favors and he gave her a copy of the ACE II keys for the washer so she could open the access panel and flip the switch that started the machine. my video helped get her evicted. that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I completely agree, given the rules about not messing with locks that don't belong to you, calling people out on suspicious inquiries is a good thing. It helps to keep people honest, and it avoids others going ahead an answering when they probably shouldn't. I just feel like the simple "give us more information" or "we can't discuss that here" is a lot more friendly to anyone who may be legit, and just as effective against those that aren't.

I hope I didn't come off as trying to rag on your either, i've read enough of your other posts to know that you are indeed very helpful. Just making a general statement.

This is the first time I'm even here on this community =_= I just typed "lock picking" on google and your page was one of the first results... Yeah, I guess the story seems weird? But excuse me for wanting to get the locker so I finally can have access to my books.

It must be a sign of the times that people first go to Facebook, Twitter, and Google during an emergency. I saw a guy on the news recently who instead of calling 911 during a home invasion, put it on facebook and his friends called the police for help. Next time, if you're at school, and there's a problem with your lock attached to the school's locker, think for a minute and say, hmmm, maybe it would be easier to just get a janitor to cut it off for me than trying to learn lock picking and safe cracking from the internet. A+ for thinking outside the box, but D- for common sense. Sorry if we're harsh, but you're not being very kind either. Squelchtone
