Manufactured Padlock shims

Hello! I’m new to the forums, but have been reading and understanding locks (and how to manipulate them ) for a few years. I was curious to see if anyone has used the manufactured padlock shims like the ones available in the link below. I’ve made shims out of tin soda cans, but the process tends to leave my hands pretty sliced up and the shims generally tear after one or two uses. If these are a bit stronger and reusable I’d say it would be worth the few dollars.
Thoughts, opinions, comments?

I've only done the soda can style, and while they can be rough on the hands, I don't envision myself shimming a high volume of padlocks that would make purchasing the commercial shims worth it.

I doubt the commercial ones last too much longer than a soda can since they come in packs of 20-25 at a time.

They are quite high quality and last several uses, although I haven't used a home made one from a can so I cant really compare quality.

Commercial shims pretty much don't tear, either themselves or your hands. They are much nicer to use than one homemade from a soda can. That said, the commercial shims are generally a little thick for some uses. I use commercial spring steel stock in a couple of thicknesses to make my own shims, and these are easier to fit between the shank and the opening than with most commercial shims. The utility of shims is on the decline as most lock manufacturers, even Masterlock, have begun to build all their locks to resist shimming.

They are CRAP! Someone was nice enough to send me a few extras he had. I tried them on all kinds of padlocks and it didnt work once. even on the crappiest padlock i had none of the different sized shims worked!

i say save your money!
