Old Master Lock Co Lever lock identification help

Postby test » 28 Sep 2011 21:35

I'm helping a friend with a old lock. I'm in the process of making a new key for this old lever lock.

Anyone know anything about this guy? It is a great little lock to play with. The levers are really thin and close together. It also has a curtain.

Does anyone know anything about this guy?

@test:

That is an old Master Locker Lock set up with a beveled bolt perhaps used in a slam lock configuration...

Master used to offer keyed locker locks with lever tumblers as an option, either KD or with a master key option...

I don't have any Master Lock product catalogs or service manuals old enough to have any specs on those products but the modern equivalent of that lock is along the lines of a #1714 which comes with a 5-pin padlock cylinder installed available KD, KA or Master Keyed...

@Evan

Good call, the latch moves freely.

Many thanks this Masterlock 1714 will be the replacement lock, and I'll keep the cool lever lock.

Any guesses as to how old the master lock was? Based on the age of the install it is probably over 20 years old.
