First pick went wrong

Postby str500 » 5 Nov 2011 14:13

hi.
im new here..hopefully im posting in the right section..

i picked my first lock in one of my apartment windows which i dont have the key for..they are all tilt & turn windows by the way..
everything went ok..while it was completely open i grabed the handle to close it and i accidentally pushed the button.
now it closes and the handle turns horizontally to open the window from the top side, and it also turn vertically to open the window completely..the thing is that it does not turn the opposite vertical to seal the window..

i have been trying for an hour to pick it again but its impossible..i dont know what to do..

can anyone help me please??
thnx

this is why you dont pick locks in use. really no way to help with out a picture and even then i think you screwed it up. if there are screws, i'd try to take it apart and try to fix it. .... not much help but it sounds like ya broke it.

You should call your local locksmith to help you on this one
he maybe able to fix it, if you broke it or if you just can't pick it
good luck.

It sounds more like you should have asked your landlord for the key to open the windows rather than tamper with locks that do not belong to you...
