I want to secure doors and windows of my house for the safety of my children when I am out for the work. There are so many locksmith companies around but I cannot figure out the reliable one. I need someone who can fix and repair the existing locks and install newer ones on the entry and exit doors of my house. Please suggest which company to contact and rely on for my needs?

Could you tell us what city and state you are from? I'd hate to recommend a really good locksmith in Boston and then find out you're in Wisconsin and have to pay the guy for gas and mileage.

I've heard very good things. You cover your windows that would be a weak point. Then you have shatter resistant windows. (un fortunately this stuff isn't the cheapest.)

For the locks im sure someone here could give better advice than myself.

Better to ask local people which locksmith they use and trust instead of a bunch of strangers on an internet forum who don't even know where you live.

I second the door reinforcement. I use EZ Armor, http://www.armorconcepts.com, but nothing wrong with the door devil. Don't forget to use longer screws and a quality door. If you use a Grade 1 deadbolt it will take a lot more abuse than a grade 3 residential.

A dog is and alarm system are the two best things to deter attacks. Also look in to CPTED concepts, plenty of info about that online if you search.
