pick stand for cutaway locks

Postby scarymonkeyman » 9 Jan 2012 4:48

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find instructions on making a stand for a cutaway lock. I am just starting out and there is an item on eBay for a cutaway lock and to make things easier I want to get a stand but they are expensive, so I wanted to see about going the cheaper route. Thanks.

What about just using a vise? Depending on what kind of lock it is, you could probably even just use a clamp from the local hardware store to secure it to a work bench, table, etc.. I have no idea what kind of cut-away lock you have, so it's difficult to make specific recommendations. I have a tripik II stand for cylinders and it works great. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to make something similar yourself. Google the tripik stand and you can take a look. Again, this all depends on what kind of cut-away your talking about.
