A question on Bypass Tools

Postby Mur670 » 18 Mar 2013 2:36

Hi everyone,

So i've been trying to make my own lock specific bypass tool and as yet havent had had any solid results. The lock in question is an ABUS 83/45 which im still having troubles with as specified here >>http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=56609

So my question is this...Is it possible to make a bypass tool that is specific to an individual lock or could any bypass tool do the job?

I thank you in advance for your suggestions and hopefully i can save this one from endig up in the bin.

Cheers

Bypass tools are mechanism specific. Unfortunately bypass is restricted to the advanced forum, but I'd say by looking at pictures of the plug, it isn't possible to bypass this padlock anyway. It's a ball bearing mechanism and the rear of the plug is completely sealed off, so it's just not gonna happen. If I had one in front of me I'd be able to say that with more certainty but I'm 90% sure you won't be able to bypass these.

Picking is more fun anyway. Take your time and practice til you get it, if you're new to picking I'd start with something easier and work your way up. These are rekeyable though so you could learn it by progressive pinning.

I can pick this lock but the problem is that the part that engages the shackle is not actually in the lock. With the part not in place it opens up the back of the plug to the area that would be engaged by the part if it were in there. My idea was to use something that would enter the lock once picked and reach the other end. Then once turned would engage the shackle.

Please take the time to read our forum rules, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=715 talking about making or using bypass tools is not allowed in the public arena, but if you have Advanced access, you may talk about those things in the private sub forums. If you don't have Advanced access, you can read the application requirements in the Advanced Locks Information area.

locking this thread before any more interesting bypass techniques are discussed,
