Should I get the slim line or no

I am going to buy a pick set, but I do not know if I should get a slim line or a regular. It says that slim line is for euro locks that are more narrow. Now I live in the U.S. but can I still use a slim line for regular American locks?

Yes but they are more fragile.

I have a set of peterson stainless slenders. They are great for slim and tricky keyways however, as byron said, they are very fragile. If you do opt to buy them be sure to keep tension as light as possible while picking or they will wear quite fast.

If you live in the US I would start with standard picks. As already stated they are more sturdy.
