Which southord pick for SPP

Postby Lesh18 » 23 May 2013 17:08

Hi all

I already have a basic set of lockpicks, but I am not very happy with them because of the rubber handles, which, in my view, decrease the feeling in SPPing. I am considering getting a single southord slim line pick for SPPing, however, I really don't know which one to get.

Long hook, Short hook, Slight hook or Reach half diamond?

Thanks
Lesh

If you just want a single pick, go for a short hook. A medium hook and a half diamond are good second choices!

This is a personall opinion, don't forget that!
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

I like the style of this guy

and he uses a "DeForest diamond". Is it just another name for "Reach half diamond" by Southord?

Thanks

I think so.
It's a good pick for tough comfigurations, but on restricted keyways it is difficult to use.

Again, nice option if uou are going to buy a few picks, not so nice if only buy one IMO...

I'd say to buy all of them, Lesh. Slimlines are cheap, and you're sure to find each of them useful in different circumstances.
