wanting to purchase a keycutting machine

Postby hammer70 » 30 Sep 2012 7:25

I live in the uk and am wondering if anybody can help me, i am looking to buy a keycutting machine, it needs to be able to cut both mortice and cylinder keys. The usage of the machine would not be great but it would need to be reliable. anyone any ideas of which model would be best suited, i am not made of money but would not want to buy a cheap and nasty one either.

when you say mortice keys, do you mean what we would call bit, barrel, or post keys here in the US?

I have an old Mancuna that was made in UK that cuts both cylinder and flat steel keys. It even has a handle for turning the cutters by hand. But, it is so heavy I cant imagine trying to ship it back. Good luck, I'm sure someone will have an unneeded spare.
