Next padlock I should look at getting?

Postby Rage » 2 Jul 2013 14:09

So I recently got interested in picking, and purchased a PPB lite and a Peterson hook to start SPP. Now my question comes to padlocks since that's what I've started on.

I purchased a cheap masterlock, and brass brinks padlock. The masterlock, I pick very easily (this is the one) http://www.lowes.com/pd_17270-382-131T_0__?productId=3017540. I'm having some issues with the brinks lock with it binding up, but I've managed to open it one time. I've also purchased a masterlock no 3 which I also open with ease.

Now since I'm still learning on feeling out the pins and everything, what is the next padlock(s) I should move to? I want something that will be challenging for my current skill level, not something I'm going to blast open in a few minutes. I don't mind sitting down for a while and really working at something, but I also don't want a lock I'm going to just open by mistake and have no clue how I did it. I did try searching around for this topic, but couldn't find anything on it, but I'm almost positive it's been asked before.

Ace hardware makes a nice little padlock with one or two spool pins in it. They are nasty little guys and a great way to master reverse rotation.
