Master 570

I am brand new to lock picking and for the first lock I wanted to pick, I went to the store and bought a Master 570. After quite a while of fiddling around with it, I haven't been able to do anything. My question is, did I choose too hard a lock for my first lock?

It has a few spool pins in it. I would say it is hard for your first lock if you don't know what they are but yet again you can learn so much by attempting it. If you should try something simpler I heard a master 400 is simple to do I think there is only 3-4 pins in it.

I have one of these .. It is not super hard to pick .. The Spools make is a little more difficult ... But if you are trying to get a feel for how the pins act when set .. I would start with something with just normal pins..

Any of the single digit Master locks 1-8 have no special pins and are 4 pin lock ...
When I finally leave this world.. Will someone please tell my wife what I have REALLY spent on locks ...

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Please always try to use the Search function first as others often post about the same stuff and it's good to have one conclusive thread rather than several disjointed ones.

Here is another Master 570 thread from September 7th: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15121&p=395726&hilit=570#p178412
