Lockwood A-F

Hi all,

I'm just wondering, does anyone know the history behind the old Lockwood (Australia) A-F restricted keys? I know the blanks are pretty much available now.

I understand there's a few profiles, AC, BC and AC? I presume the A-F profile is the master profile?

I can't speak much about Lockwood specifically, but after a certain period of time, the patents on key profiles expire. At that time, anyone can make them (or any company). The only issue is if there is enough of a market for those keyways to make it financially worth it to manufacture blanks for that keyway.

ILCO does have a healthy selection of Lockwood keyways. You can try their online catalog to check.
