Which to buy

Postby Picking_Newb » 12 Dec 2014 14:00

My wife wants to buy me some more picks for Christmas, and asked what I want. I have narrowed it down to two choices, any input is appreciated. There is a set of petersen' and the bogota Titan entry set I am choosing from. I don't know much about the Titan, but it just seems like a really cool idea, but I don't know how Practical they are.

If you just pick at home as a hobby, the Just Picks are amazing, I have them and they're great for hobby picking.

If you are more of a prepper/everyday carry type / zombie apocalypse is coming/WTSHTF / jason bourne personality then put the Titans in your wallet and know you are always prepared to pick a lock you may come upon in the wild. I have the real Raimundo hand made Bogotas in my wallet and they come out often and are brutally effective. This comes with practice however, there is a technique to using them effectively.

If you are a locksmith you should get both, and if your wife really loves you she'll get both. :D

I will be sure to tell her that haha. I am just a hobby picker for the most part, but there have been one or two situations where I have said, " I wish I had my picks right now".

Don't forget tension wrenches if you don't get the bogatas.

Fortunately I have tons of tension wrenches of all shapes and sizes. I usually make my own out of various windshield wiper inserts.
